Home Exhibition: FASHION REVISITED & STROLLING IN PARIS
Making an exhibition is showing a tip of an iceberg…
STROLLING IN PARIS
Strolling in Paris…my steps have the pace of a rushed walk…When I am in Paris, I just want to see as much as I can. Slowing down, afew steps in front of a shop window, or in a park, a street, and a moment of immobilism. A new image.
FASHION REVISITED:
New book: Fashion Revisited and Landscape Reshaped by C. Chalouni and A. Erturk
Fashion revisited:
Cécile Chalouni started photographying during her teens in her native country, France. She is currently working in the field of Microscopy at Genentech-Roche . Her interest in imaging initiated through photography and image collecting has extended to other ways of playing with images; collages, scans, painting and photoshop processing.
Fashion revisited is a series of mixed media images including photographs extracted from Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, with painting, scans, and photographs, made by the artist and sometimes further processed with photoshop .
Beyond the technical aspect, Fashion revisited, is born from the appreciation of the images of others made by others, and the special connection to an image, where I find an emotion, expression I am interested in, or I feel. By transferring an image in another world or context I integrate my feelings, sometimes an element referring to my life, an idea, and further image exploration and creation.
In this series appear images by Camilla Akrans, Peter Lindbergh, Craig McDean, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Steven Meisel
and Terry Richardson, which I am thankful to.
Le principe fondamental de l’identification à autrui n’est pas la reconnaissance du bien mais la reconnaissance de soi dans l’autre.

We must recognize that the suffering of one person or one nation is the suffering of humanity. That the happiness of one person or nation is the happiness of humanity. (Dalai Lama)
We don’t make a photograph just with a camera, we bring to the act of photography all the books we have read, the movies we have seen, the music we have heard, the people we have loved. (Ansel Adams)
There are so many moments and works that influence us in what we do. Movies, music, TV and, most importantly, the profound everydayness of our lives. (Barbara Kruger)
